In a special report titled “BUILDEX Exhibition Reveals Strong Regional and International Interest in Syria’s Reconstruction,” the prominent newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat spotlighted BUILDEX 2025 as a milestone event following Syria’s recent political shift.
The article, published in Asharq Al-Awsat, noted that the 22nd edition of BUILDEX was held for the first time since the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024, and described it as the largest economic gathering since sanctions were lifted.
Asharq Al-Awsat highlighted the participation of 740+ companies from 39 countries, with significant representation from Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, and the absence of Iran and Russia, reflecting new dynamics in Syria’s foreign relations.
The article also quoted Ilama Matar of the Arab Group for Exhibitions, who described this as “the first edition after liberation.” It emphasized Saudi Arabia’s presence and the role of Al-Ojaimi Group as the main sponsor.
