HISTORY OF BUILDEX

Throughout its 16 previous editions, BUILDEX has always provided the best platform in the region for construction and building companies to capitalize on the active and promising Syrian market, specifically by facilitating productive interaction between suppliers, manufacturers, buyers, importers,engineers, consultants, and decision makers from Syria and around the globe.

The International Exhibition for Construction – BUILDEX, one of the region’s oldest exhibitions specialized in construction and building materials sector, succeeded in enforcing its presence amongst international exhibitions. It is recognized among the major events in the Middle East and North Africa region that cater to the industry, and it became the main gateway for many international companies targeting Syrian and neighboring markets.

The 16th edition of BUILDEX that was held in May, 2010 gathered visitors from diverse nationalities and specialties in a pre-organized schedule of B2B meetings and activities during its five-day run. According to the participants, BUILDEX 2010 set new records in volume of participation as well as in terms of the number and value of business generated. The strong figures affirm the stature of the exhibition and the role it has always played in the development of the building and construction sector in Syria and the region.

Iranian participation and official Chinese participation, which focused on marble and stone and their requirements. Important international contributions from France, Germany, Austria, Russia, Poland, Jordan, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) has officially participated for the first time at BUILDEX 2010, with 18 leading Taiwanese companies.
